about BETSY & JOHN

Hi! My name is Betsy. I am a Tucson, Arizona based photographer, capturing people in love all over the Western United States and throughout the Rockies. I started my journey as a wedding photographer almost 10 years ago with my husband John. Since then, we have photographed almost 200 weddings together, our business has gone through so many changes and we are so happy where this beautiful life has taken us.

John and I have two incredible little dudes at home and they are growing up all too fast. To honor our family, we’ve recently made some big changes in our life and business. As of 2023, John isn’t always the second photographer on wedding days, but he is involved, either behind the scenes or selflessly serving as an assistant. You may or may not meet him, but know that he is the backbone that keeps our business and family together and running smoothly, additionally, you might be working with him via email for scheduling, contracts and billing :) These days, I (Betsy) am often working solo capturing wedding days and while I miss John, I’ve found my flow and am fully enjoying documenting more intimate gatherings that move at a slower pace.

When we aren’t serving our clients, you can find us exploring the desert, hanging out with our sweet boys or renovating our 1960 ranch style home in Tucson, Arizona.

I specialize in wedding photography for couples who cherish meaningful, heirloom quality images, but really want to enjoy their wedding day. It's my goal to make everyone in front of my lens feel completely at ease and to capture your event beautifully and artfully.

As an artist, my work is always evolving and growing (and always getting better, in my opinion ;). I’ve encountered so much growth in the last year and from here I’m moving away from the “cookie cutter” wedding photos of my past in favor of leaning into my artist heart, to create authentic, yet artful and lovely images. If you are looking for run of the mill wedding photos, we may not be a good fit, but if you’re ready for something slightly imperfect and a little vulnerable, I’d love to connect with you.

I am passionate about documenting genuine moments between people in love and making true connections with my clients. I don't want to be fake and don't like to be too posed. I want to capture memories in hopes that when you look at your photos in 20 years, you can still feel the joy of that moment. What would I call my style? Editorial + documentarian.
